BROKIS AT DESIGNBLOK 2026

BROKIS will once again take part in DesignBlok, Prague’s international design festival. At the Trade Fair Palace, the brand will present a selection of its latest releases – the Arcade collection by Boris Klimek and new additions to Lucie Koldova’s Starcloud collection. Jan Palach Square outside the Rudolfinum will be illuminated by BEACON, a lighting installation designed by Lee Broom. The renowned British designer will also be a guest at DesignBlok Talks on Wednesday, 7 October.

BROKIS NEW RELEASES AT THE FAIR TRADE PALACE

The Arcade lighting collection brings together two seemingly opposing worlds. On one hand, it draws inspiration from simple electrical cables with exposed light sources, whose natural sag creates a spontaneous line in space. On the other, it references the expressive aesthetic of classic chandeliers, long regarded as symbols of grandeur and ceremonial lighting.

Designer Boris Klimek merged these contrasting approaches within a single lighting concept. Graceful arcs of synthetic silk cord span the space like arcades, carrying cylindrical glass elements with softly diffused light. The apparent levitation of the lighting elements creates a tension between technical simplicity and decorative elegance, lending the collection a distinctive lightness and a subtle sense of play. Arcade works both as individual lighting objects and as larger compositions with multiple glass elements, together forming a contemporary interpretation of the classic chandelier.

Starcloud Applique and Starcloud Table | Design by Lucie Koldova

Inspired by the night sky, Starcloud joined the BROKIS portfolio in 2024. The collection has now been expanded with a table light and an applique variant suitable for both wall and ceiling installation. These additions broaden the possibilities for interior lighting, further enhanced by a growing palette of glass and cable colours. Starcloud now offers even greater possibilities for lighting compositions, from large-scale installations designed using our configurator to individual lights for more intimate settings.

BEACON

From London Icon to European Tour

Following its initial unveiling in London, BEACON embarked on a journey across Europe. In April 2026, it was presented as part of Milan Design Week. In October, the installation will return to the Czech Republic, where it will be exhibited as part of DesignBlok.

BEACON was first unveiled at London Design Festival 2025 as one of the event’s main Landmark Projects. It was installed on London’s South Bank, outside the Royal Festival Hall. BEACON forms a monumental, chandelier-like structure that blurs the boundaries between lighting design, architecture, and sculpture. Its repeated vertical elements, industrial materials, and precise geometry draw on the language of mid-century modernism.

BEACON was conceived with a strong emphasis on sustainability, both in its materials and throughout its lifecycle. The entire installation was created at Janštejn Glassworks, where glassmaking has a long tradition. BEACON is made from BROKISGLASS, a distinctive recycled glass material developed to upcycle waste glass shards.
