Janštejn Glass Group (JGG) was founded in 2020 with the aim of streamlining cooperation between individual companies. The group currently employs approximately 150 people. In working with its employees, JGG always endeavours to develop relationships based on integrity and the application of the ethical values that underpin the group’s identity.
The company specializes in the manufacture of lighting glass and builds on a tradition started more than 200 years ago. The artistry of the master glassmakers at Janštejn Glassworks stretches as far back as 1809, thus making the factory one of the oldest of its kind in the Czech Republic. Approximately 50% of the glass blown at Janštejn Glassworks is for BROKIS, with the other products going to customers around the world. Characteristic for the glassworks is its unparalleled level of craftsmanship in combination with remarkably large formats of handblown glass. The glassworks has its own grinding, polishing, and matting lines as well as a water jet.
The BROKIS portfolio features modern functional lighting fixtures, decorative objects, and unique lighting solutions for architects and interior designers. With its own high-capacity production facilities rooted in more than two centuries of history, BROKIS is free to experiment and develop innovative materials, techniques, and technologies as well as o er bespoke lighting solutions.
BROKISGLASS is a product of the ecofriendly practices of Janštejn Glassworks and BROKIS, whosecollaboration has given rise to a unique new material made of glass shards.
In the making of lighting glass, up to 30% of each handblown piece is discarded. This is an inherent part of the manufacturing process and cannot be avoided. The primary motivation for establishing and developing the company BROKISGLASS was the need to change the conventional perception of glass shards as waste, which previously was merely hauled to a landfll, where it burdened the environment and had a negative impact on the character of the surrounding landscape. This innovative material brings a new dimension and aesthetic to glass, and its unique properties make it an excellent choice in architecture, construction, and interior and product design.

The specialist woodcraft shop SYROVÁTKA manufactures components for use in JGG products as well as bespoke furniture and designer interiors and exteriors. SYROVÁTKA instils its products with an exceptional degree of quality by using the latest technologies in the furniture industry in combination with more traditional ones.
